Goods-in/Steel Store Operative Temp to Perm

Oakes Recruitment Limited is acting as a Recruitment Agency for our client and we are currently looking for Goods-in/Steel Store Operative in a Lowestoft Business

PURPOSE

  • Ensure all manufacturing goods inwards/outwards are received/despatched correctly

  • Label/store products correctly, safely and efficiently

  • Ensure all relevant paperwork/administration is completed accurately

  • Carry out checks in accordance with current company/departmental procedures

  • Move materials around site using front and side loader FLT

  • Support the Manufacturing Manager by liaising and negotiating with suppliers in relation to overdue orders, changes to orders and non-conformances

  • Work alongside other members of the team to ensure products are produced, manufactured, labelled and stored appropriately

  • Participate in target setting through team meetings and business briefing sessions

  • Ensure agreed targets and deadlines are met in line with company needs

  • Adhere to all company/departmental policies and procedures at all times

  • Adhere to the company H&S policies and procedures at all times

  • Continuously strive to improve working processes

Carry out any other duties that are reasonably asked of you in any area of the company, which could include light engineering activities during quieter periods of work

PERSON SPECIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Ability to work without direct supervision and work as part of the manufacturing team

  • Take responsibility for own work/decisions

  • Able to communicate at all levels across the business

  • Has a basic understanding of engineering drawings

  • Previous experience of using a fork-lift truck (front and side loader)

  • Able to plan/organise effectively

In this role you will be required to:

  • Have a broad engineering skill base.

  • Complete both reactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of printing / print finishing equipment.

  • Be comfortable working under pressure

  • Ensure minimal downtime is experienced due to machine breakdowns.

  • Work with the engineering team & suggest improvements.

  • Be comfortable working alone or as part of a small team.

The successful candidate will have the relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications, strong diagnostic / rectification skills and have excellent communication skills.  Ideally from a manufacturing background within the print industries

The shift pattern for this role will be confirmed but will vary across days, nights or weekends to suit the needs of the business. Working three days a week on 12 hours shifts with overtime available. Excellent basic wage plus overtime
