Oakes Recruitment Limited is acting as a Recruitment Agency for our client and we are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Bookkeeper:
The successful candidate will join our client’s team in Lowestoft to enhance the bookkeeping service provided to their clients. This will involve working on a variety of bookkeeping assignments for clients across a wide range of industries and sizes and will include the preparation and submission of VAT returns and the preparation of management accounts.
You will be taking on the responsibility of a very busy desk. You will be a main contact point for your clients, and you will be responsible for keeping them up to date and reporting to them progress
Bookkeeping can be carried out across a range of different accounting packages, with Sage and Quickbooks Online being the most common. Some experience in at least one of these packages is considered essential for the role.
Most assignments will be office based, but there will be opportunities to carry out some work on-site.
The role requires good communication skills as there will be a need to liaise with clients over queries to ensure accurate reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible to different managers and partners on a client-by-client basis giving them access to a wealth of expertise and support.
Experience in a similar practice role would be an advantage, but we will consider candidates with experience in industry as well.
Job Type: Full-time 35 hours a week
- Bookkeeping: 2 years (Preferred)
- Full clean driving licence
- AAT or equivalent qualification with experience working as a bookkeeper
- Previous proven skills in computerised and manual accounting and reconciliation
- Essential to have experience of Sage and Quickbooks
- Confident and articulate along with effective communicator at all levels
- Excellent IT Skills
- Organised and an effective planner
Salary and benefits
£18,000 to £22,000 per annum
