Oakes Recruitment Limited is acting as a Recruitment Agency for our clients and we are currently looking for qualified and experienced Legal Secretaries:

We currently have positions in Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Bungay


As the Legal Secretary you will be able to provide full secretarial and administrative support ensuring all duties and responsibilities are conducted efficiently.


Duties will include:


  • To deal with routine matters, correspondence and queries on own initiative including time recording as required
  • To liaise with client counsel, and court and other third-parties as required
  • To arrange conferences/meetings as requested
  • To type correspondence and legal documentation, to clients, companies and to solicitors.
  • To make appointments for the solicitor, booking rooms for meeting and arranging refreshments.
  • Taking messages for the Solicitor accurately from clients, companies and other contacts.
  • To cover other Secretaries in their absence
  • To attend meetings if the Solicitors are unavailable
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required


Skills required:


  • Audio typing skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative
  • The confidence to liaise with clients
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Conveyancing experience is preferred but not essential
  • Must have previous Legal Secretarial experience.

Residential Conveyancer

Oakes Recruitment of Lowestoft are currently working with a local solicitors and we are seeking an experienced residential conveyancer to join their team. The firm is a medium sized high street firm with an excellent local reputation. The role requires a fee earner with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.

Applicants must be able to manage a busy case load. We are willing to consider candidates at the beginning of their career and those with experience.

The successful candidate will be dealing with a range of property matters including:

  • Freehold and leasehold sale and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Right to Buy
  • New build properties
  • Shared ownership

Key skills include:

  • Good communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good networking skills
